Chipotle Orange Syrup


  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 dried chipotle peppers
  • zest of two oranges


  1. Boil the water in a small saucepan.
  2. Throw the chipotle peppers and orange peel in the boiling water, reduce heat to low, cover and let the mixture infuse for about half an hour.
  3. Strain out the chipotles and orange peel through a mesh sieve and stir in the sugar. Pour the mixture into the saucepan and bring to a a boil. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let cool.
  4. The syrup will keep in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks.
