Mojito Cocktail Recipe

Mojito Cocktail Recipe

The earliest known Mojito cocktail recipe dates to 1929. The recipe is in a Cuban cocktail book called Libro de Cocktail. Literally, ‘The Cocktail Book.’ In the book the drink is Mojo de Ron. In Spanish mojo is sauce, and ron means rum. So, Rum Sauce.  I prefer to think of it as Ron’s mojo. Because Ron has been using it to try and get his mojo back ever since.

The Mojito is yet another variation on the sour cocktail. To get the cheat sheet on this drink and more check out our guide to classic cocktail recipes.
