Orgeat Syrup Recipe

Orgeat Syrup

If you enjoy mixing up classic cocktails you will need orgeat syrup. Orgeat is sweet almond syrup. You make it with orange blossom water or rose water. It is a common ingredient in many Tiki drinks and classic cocktails. The Mai Tai is the most well known drink made with orgeat.

Orgeat syrup can be difficult to find. If you’ve ever ordered a Mat Tai and it didn’t taste like the one you had in Hawaii it is because the bar didn’t stock orgeat.

Orgeat Syrup – Where to Buy

As with many cocktail ingredients, orgeat can be difficult to find. A lot of people have asked me where to buy orgeat syrup. A few liquor stores might carry it. You can sometimes find it in specialty food stores. Of course, you can always order it online.

One of the things that make it difficult to buy is that nobody knows how to pronounce the word. Every time someone asks me about is they call it something different. Pronounce or-zha, or if you prefer or-zhat. Not that anyone you’re talking to will understand you anyway.
