An easy three ingredient drink made with everyone’s favorite way to celebrate.

The Champagne Cocktail is an easy way to level up your bubbly. It is an elegant celebratory drink. The addition of bitters and sugar turns your champagne into a fizzy herbal cooler. It is the cocktail hours answer to the Mimosa.

Try different combinations of sparkling wine and bitters. Try pairing wines with bitters and see what happens. A squeeze of citrus zest can really add something nice to this drink.

This is a particularly aromatic drink. The Champagne bubbles will bring the aromatic elements of the bitters to the surface. Try pairing different sparkling wines with interesting bitters choices.

Mature barrel raised Champagnes will work with maple, fig, celery bitters. A sparkling Muscat will work with those lavender bitters.

You could also try adding a touch of liqueur. A 1/4 ounce of St Germain will make almost any sparking wine taste good with the Lavender Bitters.

Champagne Cocktail Recipe

  • 5 oz chilled Champagne
  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • 1 sugar cube
  • Long lemon twist for garnish
  1. Pour the champagne into a chilled flute.
  2. Put a couple of drops of bitters on the sugar cube.
  3. Drop the Sugar cube into the Champagne.
  4. Garnish with the lemon twist.
